We are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor or HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to provide cover across primary classes at a wonderful SEN school located in Fakenham, Norfolk. This is a full-time, temporary role with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will be ready to go above and beyond to support our students and will have previous experience working within a SEN or school environment.
What will you be doing?
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise primary classes in the absence of the regular class teacher.
- Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN) to ensure their inclusion and engagement in learning activities.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student progress and well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies and ensure adherence to school policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and support colleagues to facilitate continuity and consistency in student learning experiences.
What do we expect from you?
- Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or HLTA in a school environment, preferably within a SEN setting.
- Strong behavior management skills and the ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics.
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to the diverse needs of students and the school environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
