About The Role:
As an MFL Spanish Teacher at this prestigious Peterborough secondary school, you will be instrumental in fostering a deep appreciation for the Spanish language and culture among students. You will deliver inspiring and effective lessons across various Key Stages, contributing to the school’s high academic standards and vibrant MFL department. This is a well-structured environment where your teaching will be truly valued and supported.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and high-quality Spanish lessons to students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
- Assessing, monitoring, recording, and reporting on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, ensuring accurate and timely feedback.
- Creating a positive, immersive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation and a love for language acquisition.
- Fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, and actively engaging in the wider school community.
Requirements:
- QTS Desirable but not essential.
- A relevant degree in Spanish or a Modern Foreign Language with a strong Spanish specialism.
- Proven experience teaching Spanish across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a UK secondary school is essential; experience at Key Stage 5 is highly desirable.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities, aligning with the school’s positive behaviour policy.
- Passion for the Spanish language and culture, with a genuine desire to impart this enthusiasm and facilitate high achievement.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. A proactive, resilient, and collaborative approach to teaching and professional growth.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
